The agricultural industry is shifting towards more sustainable practices, aiming to reduce chemical inputs while maintaining crop performance. One of the key factors in achieving this balance is optimising plant nutrient uptake. CropBioLife, an Australian-made flavonoid-based foliar spray, has been trialled in sugarcane farming to assess its impact on plant health and productivity.
Recent trials at LokMangal Sugar Factory in India examined how CropBioLife’s enhanced nutrient uptake improves sugarcane growth, sugar content, and plant structure.

Trial Results: Supporting Sugarcane Growth & Quality
The results demonstrated that:
Higher Yields: Sugarcane treated with CropBioLife showed up to 22.7% higher yields compared to untreated plots, with the highest recorded yield reaching 86.61 tonnes per acre.
Improved Sugar Content: BRIX levels in treated sugarcane increased by up to 2.3%, with some plants reaching 19.3% BRIX, indicating a potential improvement in sugar quality.
Stronger Plant Structure: Treated sugarcane displayed thicker canes (+3.4 mm), longer cane length (+23.1%), and taller plants (+1.5 ft) compared to untreated crops.
Increased Tillering: CropBioLife-treated plots produced up to 7 additional tillers per set, supporting greater crop density.
These findings suggest that by improving nutrient uptake, CropBioLife may contribute to enhanced sugarcane growth and sugar accumulation, resulting in healthier and more productive crops under trial conditions.

Flavonoid-Based Formulation: How It Works
CropBioLife’s formulation is designed to improve nutrient uptake, which supports the plant’s natural functions and key growth processes.
Improved nutrient uptake leads to enhanced root exudation, which has been linked to increased soil microbial activity.
The improvements to nutrient uptake, which results in a healthier crop, has been observed to support CO₂ assimilation, increasing energy production that fuels plant growth.
Through greater nutrient uptake, supported metabolic efficiency has been shown to support sugarcane plants better tolerate environmental stressors such as drought, heat, and heavy rainfall.
What It Means for Sugarcane Farmers
Farmers participating in CropBioLife trials have observed:
Improved Sugar Quality & Yield Potential – Healthier sugarcane plants have demonstrated higher BRIX levels and greater yield consistency.
Optimised Input Efficiency – Some farmers have reported reduced input costs while maintaining crop performance.
Stronger, More Resilient Crops – Improved plant health may contribute to greater resilience under varying growing conditions.
Farmer Testimonials
Rajesh W. Sugarcane Grower in India:
"In the treated plot, I noticed 20–22 shoots and 10–12 canes that were thicker and taller. The untreated plot had only 7–8 shoots and 5–6 canes, which were much weaker overall."
"I’ve seen a significant difference. This product should be used by every farmer looking to improve their crop."
Trial results suggest that increased nutrient uptake plays a crucial role in supporting sugarcane health and productivity. While yield increases of 15–30% and BRIX improvements of up to 8.01% were observed in some trials, results may vary depending on environmental factors and management practices.
